This is a sample brief included with the Feedstock India template. Every figure and claim below is invented for demonstration purposes — replace it with your first real brief before publishing.

Feedstock India exists because Indian manufacturing — pharmaceuticals first, and other input-dependent sectors as coverage expands — is itself dependent on a narrow set of upstream suppliers for the bulk drugs, key starting materials, and other industrial inputs it needs. That dependence is concentrated overwhelmingly in one country, and it is not well tracked in any single public place.

What this brief covers

Each week, Feedstock India will publish a short update on one or two inputs or sub-segments: what changed, what a trade data release implied, or what a policy announcement means for the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme for bulk drugs. Some weeks will be narrower — a single HS code, a single plant commissioning.

The goal is not to predict company-level earnings. It is to give analysts and procurement teams a reliable, dated, sourced record of where import dependence stands and how it is moving — the kind of primary-source tracking that is normally scattered across customs data releases, ministry press notes, and company disclosures.1

How a typical entry will read

A weekly note will usually include a short table like the one below, summarizing the week's data points before the write-up.
